A journey on the Bellarine Railway is a unique and historic experience linking Drysdale on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula with the seaside township at Queenscliff and we offer a variety of differant services to ensure that your visit to us is a memorable experience. Park n Ride - Leave your car at Drysdale Staion where there is ample parking, toilets, BBQ facilities and a great childrens playground; and visit the Bellarine Railway Museum before boarding your heritage Diesel train for the 45 minute journey to Queenscliff and its attractions, or an afternoon at the beach. The Bellarine Railway operates a small fleet of First Generation Tasmanian Government Railway X class diesel electric locomotives. These locomotives from Tasmania are historically significant as they are representatives of the first class of mainline diesel locomotives used anywhere in Australia. We are very proud of these locomotives and they are predominantly used for charter trains and to supplement steam services during periods of steam locomotive maintenance; or on days of Total Fire Ban.
Sit back in the comfortable leather seats as the train traverses rural farmland on its way to Queenscliff and skirts the foreshore around Swan Bay during the 16 km trip. Click here to view the Timetable Steam Train
